Ordering Process
Upon initial contact by a customer, I will ask that they fill out a spec sheet to get an idea as to the type of build they are seeking. Typically, it will take a number of follow up emails to finalize the details at which point I will send a proposal with the final terms, pricing and an estimated timeline to completion.
Terms
Upon agreement of the proposal, I may require a non-refundable deposit before I commence construction. The deposit is based on the design and uniqueness of the build which determines the marketability of the instrument in the event the buyer backs out. You may leave the build at any time, but you can not sell your in-process build without my prior consent. Final payment is due upon completion of the build, along with shipping costs, before shipment.
It is your responsibility to notify me in the event that your contact info changes at any point in the process.
I provide a 72 hour approval period upon receipt of the instrument. If you are not happy for any reason then return the instrument, in the same condition in which it was received, and I will refund your payment less any shipping and handling fees. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, insurance and damage as a result of return shipping. If instrument is damaged upon arrival to buyer then immediately document it and notify me including photos of damage.
Spec Instruments
I build spec instruments from time to time and they are priced on a case by case basis. Spec instruments will be listed for sale on the website as they become available.
Timeline
Please note that I do not build instruments full time for a living. As such, the time spent in my shop working on instruments is dictated by the other obligations in my life such as my family, my job and various recreational activities to keep me healthy. I will try my best to meet your deadline but when it comes down to it and I have to choose between spending time in the shop or with my family, my family will win out. If you have a hard, set deadline then I'd recommend finding another builder. I try to maintain good communication with my customers and will provide updates on an instruments progress as they become available. I do post photos from time to time on my Facebook page. If you are curious at anytime as to where you stand then just email me.
